WASHINGTON, DC: Meghan Markle is back in the headlines, this time drawing attention over a tote bag featuring her royal initials, "DS," for "Duchess of Sussex."

The former actress was mocked online, with some calling the bag "tacky," after she was seen carrying the black and blue bag during a recent trip to Washington in her latest Instagram post.

The Duchess of Sussex is no stranger to social media, often sharing glimpses of her life through videos. Recently, while attending the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, she shared an Instagram reel with the caption, "Love being surrounded by strong women supporting each other! Thanks to @fortunempw, my team, DC, and my sweet friends for the 24 hours of impact (and fun!)."

In the mini vlog, her monogrammed tote was clearly visible.

In the video, Meghan's tote was resting on top of a black suitcase. According to People, the "DS" monogram stands for Duchess of Sussex.

According to Daily Mail, a website that follows the mother of two's wardrobe and accessories identified the bag as the Longchamp "My Pliage Signature" customizable tote.

Internet thinks Meghan Markle is obsessed with her royal title

Soon after Meghan Markle shared the reel, netizens started weighing in on her move to carry a bag apparently emblazoned with the initials of her royal title. While some of Meghan’s supporters say the "DS" on the tote doesn’t stand for Duchess of Sussex, many believe it’s indeed a reference to her title.

"Please dont tell me she had a bag made with the initials DS for Duchess of Sussex? The title of the racist royal family? Didnt she say in the fortune monologue that she was 'Recovering from her time in the institution'? " said X (formerly Twitter) user.

"What do you want to bet the 'DS' on the bag is for Duchess of Sussex? She’s psychotically OBSESSED with the title. Even a freaking Queen only has her name, Maxima, on her Christian Dior book bag, while Meghan needs to plaster Duchess of Sussex on anything she possibly can. It’s weird," another expressed.

"So heinously tacky. She’s such a vulgar thing," a person bluntly wrote.

"She has more than one bag with her title on it. She always wants to be referred to as The Duchess of Sussex, as opposed to The Prince and Princess of Wales, who will allow people to call them William and Catherine," someone else remarked.

One more said, "Not even the real original royals have that LOL. It's pathetic," with another adding, "She is nothing without that title…..she’s not much with it either."

Referring to her past comments about the royal family, an individual quipped, "The easiest way for her to recover from surviving the Royal Family is by branding all her property with her affiliation to them 🤣🙄."
