LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan Markle has found herself in hot water again—this time over her decision to delay the premiere of her Netflix cooking series, 'With Love, Meghan'.

The show was supposed to debut on January 15, but Meghan's pulling the plug on its launch and pushing it back almost two months to March 4 due to the wildfires raging in California.

In a statement to People magazine, Meghan explained her decision: "I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California."

But some are suspicious of the timing, suggesting that Meghan’s more concerned about how her show would be received in the wake of California’s massive wildfires.

Meghan Markle slammed for delay

Meghan Markle’s decision didn’t exactly win everyone over. Her critics on social media insisted she only delayed the show so it wouldn't be "overshadowed" by the fires.

"In other words, it would be overshadowed by the fires," one posted on X.

"She doesn’t want to be overshadowed by anything and well she’s probably hoping we’ll all forget our initial visceral reactions to her rollout of this on the same day as the terrorist attack in New Orleans," another wrote.

"Please. They’re using that as an excuse-they heard the negative reaction and I guarantee there’s some editing going on," one user chimed in.

"Well she they already filmed and edited that show. It’s not like they’re filming it now … and they didn’t even film it in her house. She’s scared of the backlash," read a comment.

"Megs couldn’t say that the show's content would be completely inappropriate as it would reflect the juxtaposition of her play house and the disaster in LA," someone else offered.

"Oh no we’re devastated, how will be able to go on without it," another snarked.

The series is already part of her and Prince Harry’s massive $100 million Netflix deal—a contract scrutinized ever since their royal exit. With wildfires dominating the news cycle and critiques of the show’s initial rollout lingering, postponing might’ve been the safest bet for Meghan’s reputation.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s fire relief efforts

While the Netflix delay is stirring up drama, it’s worth noting that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have actively contributed to wildfire relief. The couple’s Archewell Foundation has made donations to support victims, and they’ve even opened their $29 million Montecito mansion to loved ones who had to evacuate.

In a statement on their website, the Sussexes urged people to step up for their neighbors: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more... If you feel compelled to help, here are some resources and ideas.”

They encouraged donations to the American Red Cross, offering shelter to evacuees, and checking in on elderly or disabled neighbors.

"If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do," the couple continued. "And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating."

"Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys and clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need," they added.

On Friday, the couple even made a surprise visit to a local food bank, comforting victims and first responders alike.

What’s next for Meghan Markle’s Netflix show?

'With Love, Meghan' will now air on March 4, which means Meghan Markle still gets to share her cooking secrets with the world, just a little later than expected.

In the series, she’ll host famous friends like Mindy Kaling and Abigail Spencer while sharing her top tips for cooking and gardening. And judging by the trailer, the Duchess of Sussex is totally living her best life in her kitchen—picking produce from her garden, whipping up dishes, and chatting with pals.

That said, the upcoming series is just one part of her and Harry’s $100 million Netflix deal — which means the stakes are pretty high for this show.

But will the delayed premiere work in her favor? Only time will tell.
