LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: As Meghan Markle gears up to debut her new lifestyle series, 'With Love, Meghan', on Netflix, not everyone is embracing the Duchess of Sussex with warmth. Reports suggest that the royal family remains determined to maintain their distance.

The series, where Markle is both host and executive producer, is set to premiere on January 15. While it is expected to draw attention from critics and fans, royal experts told Fox News Digital that the British royal family is unlikely to tune in.

How do royals feel about Meghan Markle’s new project?

Royal expert and commentator Kinsey Schofield recently revealed Prince William and Kate Middleton's stance on Meghan Markle’s upcoming project. She stated, "I was told that the Prince and Princess of Wales have no interest in Meghan’s future projects."

She added, "A palace source told me, ‘Meghan was a background character in a chapter that’s already closed'. Courtiers don’t believe that Meghan is worth the mental real estate."

Schofield also provided insights into how the palace will handle the show’s release, saying, "The palace plans to assign someone of lower rank to sit through the show, so the communications office has a heads up if there is something to brace for, Netflix is not giving the palace, or anyone, screeners so they will see it in real-time with the audience."

She added, "Regarding the vapid celebrity-focused theme, courtiers are just grateful that Meghan’s taken a break from attacking the institution."

Another royal expert also weighed in on how the royals feel about Meghan Markle's new venture.

According to Richard Fitzwilliams, the royals "couldn't give a damn". He continued, "Meghan does still make news, and the Sussex brand still fascinates. But… [the series] looked pretty superficial to me. I wondered where the Kardashians were."

Meghan Markle expected to make ‘great strides’ with new show

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a multi-year Netflix deal reportedly worth $100 million. Following that, they launched a docuseries titled 'Harry & Meghan' that explored their love story and struggles with royal life. It gained significant attention and became the most-watched documentary premiere on the platform.

However, their subsequent sports docuseries 'Polo' failed to gain much traction and struggled to crack Netflix's top 10 charts.

Now, Meghan's first solo hosting project for Netflix, 'With Love, Meghan', has arrived.

The first trailer for the series, released last week, features Meghan cooking and gardening with celebrity friends. She also posted the trailer on her Instagram after returning to the platform, although none of the royal family members have followed her new account.

The post included the caption: "I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support - and fun!"

While royal experts have shown little interest in her project, Ian Pelham Turner, a royal expert, acknowledged that the series will likely resonate with Meghan’s fanbase.

He explained, "Meghan… will make great strides this year. She is a polished performer with a professional approach… The royal family will no doubt process the effect of the competition and diligently pass no comment. They may seethe quietly and put their PR teams to task to find a suitable vehicle to continue their… brand [of] royal perfect and hope the UK media will light a flame under Meghan’s show."
