Meghan McCain calls Jimmy Kimmel ‘mean’ and ‘heartless’ over Spencer Pratt jokes
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Meghan McCain has reignited her feud with Jimmy Kimmel after the late-night host mocked Spencer Pratt's failed run for mayor of Los Angeles.
The conservative commentator took aim at Kimmel on Wednesday, June 10, calling him "mean" and "heartless" after he devoted part of his monologue to joking about Pratt's election loss.
The clash erupted after Kimmel discussed Pratt's campaign during Tuesday night's show. The ABC host poked fun at the former reality television star's promise to leave Los Angeles if certain candidates won, even unveiling a specially decorated U-Haul truck as part of the gag.
Jimmy Kimmel is a mean, heartless bastard and no amount of on air crying will convince me or anyone else otherwise. The day he is off air will be a better day for the country. https://t.co/XI1i6gCSFs

Meghan McCain accuses Jimmy Kimmel of being bad for the country
Responding to clips from Kimmel's monologue, McCain delivered a blistering assessment of the comedian.
"Jimmy Kimmel is a mean, heartless b*****d and no amount of on-air crying will convince me or anyone else otherwise," McCain wrote on X.
She followed that up with another sharp criticism directed at the television host.
"The day he is off air will be a better day for the country."
McCain's comments quickly drew attention because of how direct they were.
Jimmy Kimmel mocked Spencer Pratt’s promise to leave Los Angeles
During his monologue, Kimmel reminded viewers that Pratt had previously said he would leave Los Angeles if either incumbent Mayor Karen Bass or city councilmember Nithya Raman won the election.
After Pratt failed to advance from the primary, Kimmel suggested he was simply helping him follow through on that promise.
"He clearly promised that if Karen Bass or Nithya Raman were elected mayor, he's going to move out of LA," Kimmel told viewers.
"He said he was done with LA, and Spencer, if you're watching, we are so, so sorry to see you go."
The late-night host continued piling on with a series of jokes about Pratt's campaign and what might come next.
"You said you were going to go, and I know things might be tight right now, especially out-of-state donation money is running out."
"Moving is expensive. So to help you out, we rented you a U-Haul."
The joke was not limited to words. Kimmel revealed that his show had prepared a moving truck specifically for Pratt.
Jimmy Kimmel unveils decorated U-Haul truck aimed at Spencer Pratt
As part of the segment, Kimmel showed viewers a U-Haul truck decorated with balloons, a cutout of Pratt appearing upset, and a sign that read "Just defeated."
The host joked that the vehicle had been prepared especially for the former The Hills star.
"Our staff spent the whole day decorating for you, and everybody will notice you and wave goodbye as you leave," Kimmel said.
Despite the relentless teasing, Kimmel ended the segment on a lighter note by wishing Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, well wherever they eventually decided to go.
He said he hoped the couple would be "happy wherever" they wound up.
The monologue came after a dramatic turn in the Los Angeles mayoral race. Pratt initially appeared to have a realistic chance of advancing to the runoff and was at one point running in second place.
However, as additional ballots were counted over an extended period, he fell behind both Bass and Raman and was ultimately eliminated from contention.
Pratt's campaign had already attracted attention because of his celebrity status and endorsement from President Donald Trump.
His rise in the early stages of vote counting surprised many observers, making his eventual elimination a closely watched development.
