WASHINGTON, DC: Conservative commentator Meghan McCain took to the social media platform Instagram on Monday, December 30 to share a shocking health update, reported the Daily Beast.

According to the publication, the former co-host of the ABC talk show 'The View' revealed having a mass in her breast, which came back benign after a biopsy.

This situation was scary for the self-proclaimed "political nepo baby," as her father, late Republican Senator John McCain, died in 2018 after suffering from a glioblastoma brain tumor at the age of 81.

The political stalwart had been reportedly treated with radiation and chemotherapy for a year before he succumbed to the disease.

"I can't tell you how blessed, lucky and relieved I am but for any woman who follows this account of my work. PLEASE het your mammograms!!!" she urged. "It is so important and vital and something I know a lot of us put off. I am 40 and this was a scare for me. Get your mammograms!!!"

"Doctors, nurses, pathologists, the mammogram coordinators, all of these people are nothing short of selfless angels who walk among us and I am forever grateful to every single health care professional,” she added, before wishing everyone "a happy, blessed, HEALTHY New Year!"

In the caption of the post, McCain reiterated, "Please, please ladies - get your mammograms and Pap smears!"
