NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly suffered a meltdown while watching the vice presidential debate between Ohio Senator JD Vance (R) and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) on Tuesday, October 1, according to the portal, The List.

Kelly took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to vent her anger at the CBS network, which hosted the debate at their Broadcast Center studio in New York City.

Why was Megyn Kelly angry with CBS?

The host network had shared ahead of the debate that their moderators would not be fact-checking the candidates during the debate, but leave it upon the rivals to keep each other in check.

However, on the night of the event, Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan corrected former president Donald Trump's running mate on-air, when he referred to Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, as illegal. They pointed out to clarify for "our viewers that the group in question was present in the United States legally."

Vance appeared to take issue with the situation, and called out the network on stage saying, "The rules were that you guys weren't going to fact-check."

Kelly, who was live posting on X through the debate, cursed on the platform, posting, "F you CBS - how DARE YOU."

"Tried to fact check. JD put you in your place. You won't (let) him fight you and you won't let him debate," added the host of the podcast, 'The Megyn Kelly Show.'

The network however exercised their right to cut off the microphones of the candidates during the debate for both Vance and Walz, but the former was not swayed from his effort to talk over the moderators.

Internet trolls Kelly Megyn for defending JD Vance

Netizens reacting to the podcaster's post on X slammed her for coming in defense of the GOP candidate. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"Imagine seeing someone lie and then defending them for lying," wrote a user.

"Why are people afraid to be fact-checked?" mocked another.

"If you don't want to be fact-checked, then all you have to do is tell the truth. Sadly, that's something Trump and Vance are unwilling to do," jibed a third.

"Truth tellers don't object to fact-checking," chided a fourth.

"Not the flex you think this is," quipped a fifth user.

"The only reason to be afraid of being fact-checked is because you know you're going to be lying. Otherwise, why would it be a problem Megyn?" echoed yet another.
