Megyn Kelly rips Selena Gomez for filming herself crying over Trump’s deportation policy: 'She's unwell'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly attacked singer-actress Selena Gomez on the Monday, January 27 episode of her podcast, for posting a video on Instagram where she was seen crying over the mass deportation operations taking place under the newly instated administration of Donald Trump.
According to The Wrap, Gomez deleted the video from her social media platforms. The star began the video, which featured a Mexican flag emoji, by apologizing before breaking down into sobs.

Megyn Kelly's take on Selena Gomez's deleted video
On the Monday episode of her 'Sirius XM' podcast, Megyn Kelly mentioned Selena Gomez breaking down in tears in front of her social media followers. She said, "(Gomez) decides to go on Instagram and cry tears about all the illegal children, I guess, who might be subject to deportation."
“But she deleted it after her fans taught her that the majority of the country stands behind these policies. I’m sure she was shocked to get any blowback whatsoever.”
While Kelly's guest on 'The Megyn Kelly Show', Batya Ungar-Sargon, blamed Gomez's outburst on the woke mindset and "mass misinformation," Kelly continued, "She’s unwell. Obviously, this is an unwell person."
"And by the way, anybody who takes their phone, works up in tears, and posts a video of themselves crying into their phone is sick. That’s a sick person. Tears happen. They tend to happen privately. If they happen publicly, I think you should quickly move on and recover," she explained.
"But I don’t understand the person who works it and tries to squeeze out more tears to make themselves look extra sad. ‘I’m really sad. I know I have hundreds of millions (followers), but I hate this country.’”
Kelly also called out the "ridiculous meltdown" on Sky News. “It's so humiliating,” she told Sky News host Paul Murray. “This woman has decided to manufacture tears to try to work herself up, you know, as an actress might before a scene that could potentially be say Oscar worthy and try her best to turn on the waterworks in front of the camera."
Conservatives join Megyn Kelly in calling out Selena Gomez
Netizens reacting to Megyn Kelly's takedown of Gomez on Instagram backed her argument. The following comments demonstrate their takes.
"Nothing screams narcissist like crying into a camera," wrote a person.
"How much was she paid for that video?" chided another.
"She really needs to do just a little research on what’s really happening before making a ridiculous statement and acting like a fool," shared a third.
"Celebrities have no influence anymore," stated a fourth.
"Tell her to house them all and pay for their bills, that’s how she can fix it, wouldn’t want her crying for nothing," quipped a fifth.
"I hope her fans schooled her and then unfollowed her," stated a sixth user.
"Who sets up a camera and records themselves crying? That crying was planned. Pathetic," slammed yet another.
