Megyn Kelly urges Republicans to vote for Andrew Cuomo and save 'NYC from Communism'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Megyn Kelly has sent a blunt message to Republican voters in New York City's mayorial election by telling them to hold their nose and vote for Independent Andrew Cuomo.
Kelly's appeal comes in the face of mounting alarm about Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, whom she described as a "radical Muslim socialist" who threatens to make New York "one big mosque."

“There’s no choice right now, you’re going to have to vote Cuomo. Curtis Sliwa I respect, but he just wasn’t able to get it done. His numbers are just too low.” pic.twitter.com/hirxrCxeAu
Kelly claimed Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa "can't win" and that the sole available method of stopping Mamdani win is to unite the non-Mamdani vote behind Cuomo, although as she dislikes the former governor.
She maintained that the exigency of the hour is to stop NYC from falling to "Communism" and that it requires a utilitarian option.
She stated, “There’s no choice right now — you’re going to have to vote Cuomo. Curtis Sliwa, I respect, but he just wasn’t able to get it done. His numbers are just too low.”
Megyn Kelly emphasized controversies surrounding Zohran Mamdani
Kelly emphasized two big controversies surrounding Mamdani which surfaced in the last mayoral debate. Kelly criticized Mamdani for being involved with an Imam who testified for the defense during the 1993 World Trade Center bombing trial.
Kelly mentioned Mamdani's physical hug in a photograph with the Imam, whom Mamdani recently referred to as a "pillar of the New York community," and said she couldn't believe that no one had made this focal point of the discussion.
The other area of attack, which Kelly gave credit to Cuomo for bringing up, was Mamdani's photo with Rebecca Kadaga, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and self-proclaimed "Rebecca Gay Killer Kadaga." Kelly beat up on Mamdani for his Ugandan nationality and insistence that he had no idea about Kadaga's rabidly anti-LGBTQ+ orientation. She chronicled Kadaga's 2012 promise to enact a draconian anti-homosexuality law that mandated life imprisonment for gay individuals.
However during the debate, Mamdani defended himself in the ensuing scandal by saying, "My politics is consistent and my politics is built on a belief in human rights for all people," in that he would not have posed for the photo if he had known Kadaga was the "architect of that legislation."
Kelly rejected this explanation as a "liar or incredibly ill-informed," since Uganda has "one of the world's harshest laws for gay people."
Megyn Kelly backs Andrew Cuomo to block Zohran Mamdani from winning
Kelly admitted that her appeal for a Cuomo vote would undoubtedly infuriate backers of Republican Curtis Sliwa. She pointed to a contentious radio dialogue between Sliwa and talk host Sid Rosenberg, in which Sliwa said that he feels like he is "not running against Mamdani anymore," describing the Cuomo hatred which has "enveloped" some in the Republican party base.
Kelly's own conclusion is steadfast: "Curtis is going to lose and Mamdani is going to win," and the desperate attempt to block Mamdani from winning by backing Cuomo is political imperative, however "disgusting" it might seem.
Kelly went further and claimed that Mamdani's chief political priority has been "Palestinian rights," a stance he only downplayed in the later stages of the campaign in order to target economic inequality.
