WASHINGTON, DC: As Donald Trump's presidency unfolded, his wife Melania Trump was secretly meeting with lawyers to secure her family's financial future in case the Trump empire ever came crumbling down, according to revelations in two books.

While publicly supporting her controversial husband, Melania worked privately to amend her prenuptial and postnuptial agreements to ensure the couple's son, Barron Trump, would receive the same inheritance benefits as Donald's three eldest children, as per OK Magazine.

Melania wanted written confirmation that Barron would receive equal inheritance

Journalist Katie Rogers shares in her forthcoming book 'American Woman: The Transformation of the Modern First Lady' that former Melania aide Stephanie Grisham disclosed the First Lady spent hours in closed-door sessions with legal teams.

"It often had to do with prenups and money in the bank that she had personally," Grisham is quoted.

Investigative reporter Mary Jordan also addresses Melania’s financial activity in the Oval Office in her book 'The Art of Her Deal', alleging the 53-year-old specifically wanted written confirmation that her son Barron would receive equal financial opportunities and inheritance as Donald’s three children from his first marriage.

Melania worried family empire would fall into Ivanka's hands

Jordan writes that Melania worried Ivanka Trump may someday control the family empire and finances in a way that could exclude the youngest Trump child.

"According to three people close to Trump, a key reason was that she had finally reached a new and significantly improved financial agreement with Trump, which had left her in a noticeably better financial position," the book shares.

"Those sources did not know precisely what she sought, but it was not simply more money. It was about Barron. Melania wanted and got options for him," it adds.

A spokesperson for Melania has disputed the allegations made in both books. "Mrs Trump had a successful career before she met her husband and has always had her own businesses and assets. As an accomplished professional, she frequently meets with her counsel," they stated, in apparent reference to her gatherings with lawyers.
