WASHINGTON, DC: President Joe Biden's use of crib notes and cheat sheets during official events and meetings has become a recurring source of embarrassment for the White House, with the latest incident triggering mockery and memes across social media.

During a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar on Friday, March 15, Biden was caught on camera holding cards featuring photos of Irish officials along with phonetic prompts on how to pronounce their names correctly, as per New York Post.

The revelation has reignited concerns about the 81-year-old president's cognitive abilities and memory lapses, fueling a wave of online trolling and criticism from those who view such aids as a sign of his deteriorating mental faculties.

The cards, which were inadvertently exposed to cameras in the Oval Office, featured images of Varadkar, accompanied by his aide Nick Miller, chief of staff Brian Murphy, deputy chief of staff Philip O'Callaghan, and Irish ambassador to the US, Geraldine Byrne Nason.

Next to their photographs were prompts on how to properly pronounce their names, presumably to aid Biden in addressing them correctly.

During the meeting, Varadkar expressed gratitude for the United States' role in facilitating peace between Ireland and Northern Ireland through the 1998 Good Friday Agreement.

However, he also raised concerns about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, highlighting the challenges faced in securing military aid due to legislative gridlock in the House.

Biden's affinity for his Irish roots is well-documented, often quoting Irish poets like Seamus Heaney and delivering Irish toasts at formal gatherings.

Moreover, Biden often initiates discussions about Ireland with foreign leaders and even delivered a speech at an Irish pub during his visit last year, relishing the opportunity to immerse himself in the culture.

Not the first time Joe Biden seen relying on cheat notes and prompts

The incident is not the first time Biden has been seen relying on cheat notes and prompts. In June 2022, he was caught with a card detailing step-by-step instructions on where to stand and what to say, reading, "YOU enter the Roosevelt Room and say hello to participants. YOU take YOUR seat."

Even more bizarrely, in July 2021, an aide had to discreetly alert Biden through a note that there was "something" on his chin during a public event.
