Meryl Streep and Martin Short hold hands during ‘Only Murders’ premiere after denying dating rumors
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meryl Streep, 75, and Martin Short, 74, were spotted holding hands on August 22, at an afterparty at the Paramount Lot in Los Angeles on August 22.
While ‘Only Murders In The Buildings’ co-stars have always maintained they "are just very good friends,” the internet might beg to differ.

On Sunday, before the duo was spotted spending some cozy time together, they, along with Steve Martin, attended the season four premiere of ‘Only Murders in the Building.’
Meryl Streep and Martin Short always claimed they were ‘good friends’
Recently, Deadline shared an adorable video of Meryl Streep and Martin Short holding hands as they navigated the lot, with Steve Martin following close behind.
Though the fans are shipping them hard, a source close to the costars shared with PEOPLE that they are "just friends."
Earlier in the evening, the duo also held hands while posing on the red carpet ahead of the premiere of the fourth installment of the hit Hulu show.
Styled by Micaela Erlanger, the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star rocked a black and white printed Stella McCartney dress accessorized with a wide belt, white slip-on shoes, and a clutch. Short looked dapper in a classic black suit paired with a burgundy tie.
While the duo playfully teased their friendship, their recent outing came just half a year after they appeared noticeably close in this year's Golden Globes.
However, a representative for Short dismissed the rumor, stating to People that they "are just very good friends, nothing more."
Even Short addressed the rumor when he went to Bill Maher’s podcast, where he shared, that they were “not a couple, we are just very close friends.”
The stars’ cozy outing also came almost a year after it was confirmed that the ‘Mamma Mia!’ actress separated from her husband of 45 years, Don Gummer. It has been reported that the old married couple separated six years ago.
Internet reacts to seeing Meryl Streep and Martin Short holding hands
The exuberant netizens left no stone unturned for cheering the pair as they even declared them to be 'Tayvis' of the older generation. Some of the fans even shouted out to Steve Martin for third wheeling in the alleged love story.
One of the fans exclaimed in joy, "They’re holding hands!! 🥰♥️"
Someone else declared lovingly, "The most relevant power couple."
Another fan compared Streep and Short with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce noting, "This is the Tayvis of old people. Martin must be screaming internally for snagging Meryl at his age. What a win."
