As he approaches his 80th birthday, insiders reveal that Douglas is more motivated than ever to maintain his youthful appearance.

Recently, while promoting his latest project, ‘Franklin’, the Oscar-winning actor unveiled a freshened-up face that left many stunned.

His noticeably younger look reportedly sparked conversations among his friends about his possible recent visits to the plastic surgeon.

"When he hit up the red carpet in Cannes, people were stunned, like they were seeing a man 20 years younger,” an insider told InTouchWeekly.

This motivation stems not only from his desire to continue his successful career but also to keep up with his younger wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

“He’s no stranger to plastic surgery," the insider said, adding "but people around him can tell he’s got an extra glow these days."

It is due to, "some refresher touch-ups at the surgeon’s office," Douglas is showing only minimal signs of aging and his "jawline is exceptionally firm.”

“He doesn’t want to get left in the dust and a few nip/tucks certainly help," he added.

Beverly Hills surgeon Dr Robert H Cohen, who has not treated Douglas, suggests that his tighter jawline could be the result of injectables like Botox.

"It’s also likely he’s using an at-home device like the new Skin Skulpt Plasma Perfector, which is very popular with celebrities right now,” Dr Cohen added.

“He’s an older guy, but his face really looks good, and Botox may have been used to tighten the jawline, the neck and the whole lower face," he said further.
