Michelle Trachtenberg's friends 'upset' over being kept in dark about her funeral plans

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Michelle Trachtenberg's friends were reportedly unaware of any funeral or memorial service held in her honor.
The 39-year-old actress, known for her roles in 'Gossip Girl' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' unexpectedly died on February 27. The cause of death remains "undetermined."

Her family declined an autopsy, a request that the medical examiner's office honored, according to CNN and other outlets.
"Michelle's family and boyfriend Jay [Cohen] have gone silent on her closest friends," an insider told Parade.
"They won't get back to anyone despite many attempts," the insider added.

"None of them were aware of a funeral or memorial for their friend, and they're upset they couldn't say goodbye properly," the insider revealed.

The source revealed that her closest friends are considering organizing a tribute around her birthday in October.
"Her closest friends are talking about doing something to memorialize her around her birthday in October because she was so looking forward to that," the insider stated.

"Nothing's planned yet, but conversations are starting to happen," the source said.
Earlier this month, a source told the outlet that Trachtenberg's family had been "keeping quiet about all the arrangements" weeks after her death.

Michelle Trachtenberg was found unconscious and unresponsive before being pronounced dead by EMS officials. The NYPD stated that no criminal involvement is suspected, and the investigation is ongoing.

Gary Mantoosh, a representative for Trachtenberg, confirmed her passing "with great sadness" in a statement to USA Today at the time. "The family requests privacy for their loss. There are no further details at this time," Mantoosh said.
The actress began her career in the early 1990s, appearing in shows like 'Law & Order,' 'Clarissa Explains It All,' and 'All My Children.'
She gained recognition for her role in Nickelodeon's 'Pete and Pete' from 1994 to 1996 before starring in 'Harriet the Spy' in 1996.
In the 2000s, she rose to prominence as Dawn Summers on 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' from 2000 to 2003.
Her later works included roles in 'EuroTrip,' 'Six Feet Under,' 'Ice Princess,' '17 Again' alongside Zac Efron and the late Matthew Perry, 'Mercy,' 'Weeds,' 'Gossip Girl,' and 'Guidance.'
Her last credited role was in 2022, when she reprised her character Georgina Sparks in the 'Gossip Girl' reboot.
