EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY: Mick Jagger took a dig at Donald Trump as the former president is currently embroiled in a hush money trial.

Rolling Stones frontman reportedly said on Thursday, May 23, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, “I was a bit worried about the weather tonight. I thought we were going to get a Stormy Daniels, but we’re all right,” as reported by HuffPost.

Mick Jagger mentioned Trump’s ‘trials and tribulations’

Jagger's remark alluded to an accusation claiming that Trump paid $130,000 to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 elections in exchange for her silence about a reported sexual encounter with him.

It has been said that the English singer also told the crowd that “there’s a much bigger vote happening in November.”

Additionally, according to a tweet from Guardian contributor Lloyd Green, Mick Jagger acknowledged the "trials and tribulations" experienced by the former President.

Mick Jagger criticized Trump for his environmental policies

However, this wasn't the initial instance of Jagger criticizing Trump. In 2019, the 80-year-old musician rebuked him for his environmental policies, as reported by CNN.

He said, at the time, “We are in a very difficult situation at the moment, especially in the US, where all the environmental controls that were put in place – that were just about adequate – have been rolled back by the current administration so much that they are being wiped out.”

“The US should be the world leader in environmental control but now it has decided to go the other way,” he added.

Mick Jagger ‘loved’ for making fun of Trump

Meanwhile, Jagger's recent jab at Trump has garnered support from individuals online.

An individual commenting below a Yahoo article wrote, “No sympathy for someone advocating a Unified Third Reich.”

Another one said, “Pretty bad when foreign citizens are mocking a government wannabe. They see he’s unfit.”

One user noted, “Not even the Brits like Trump. They and 99% of the world think he is a joke.”

An X user tweeted, “Mick Jagger making fun of Trump at a stadium in NJ is so f*****g delicious.”

“I could not love Mick Jagger anymore at this point,” another one added.

However, there were a few supporters of Trump that took issue with Jagger.

One of them wrote below the Yahoo article, “I hate Trump as much as any sane person, but I’m so sick of celebrities thinking they know more than anyone else and believe they could influence a D… thing in life.”

“Who cares what a geriatric buffoon of a British musician thinks about US presidential candidates. He should save his commentary for the British royal family and stay out of American politics,” another user added.
