Mick Jagger's fiancee Melanie Hamrick defends 44-year age gap as she jokes he is 'younger' than her

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Melanie Hamrick isn’t losing sleep over the 44-year age gap between her and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger.
While attending the New York City Ballet's 2025 Spring Gala on Thursday, May 8, the 37-year-old former ballerina responded with humor and admiration when asked about her 81-year-old fiance, reports Page Six.

Melanie Hamrick had a playful reply when asked about her 44-year age gap with Mick Jagger
“He’s younger than me!” Melanie Hamrick quipped, before adding, “He’s amazing, he really is.”
Hamrick and Jagger first crossed paths in 2014 during a Rolling Stones tour stop in Japan. At the time, she was touring with the American Ballet Theatre. Two years later, they welcomed their son Deveraux Octavian — the musician's eighth child.
Although Hamrick has taken a step back from the ballet stage, her creativity hasn’t slowed down. She published two novels set in the dance world and is currently working on a third.

Hamrick says there's no rush to make wedding plans, choosing instead to focus on family and writing for now.
Melanie Hamrick prefers to keep her private life under wraps
Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the NYC Ballet's Spring Gala, Melanie Hamrick emphasized the importance of keeping her family life out of the headlines.

“I think family is so personal, and it’s a bubble,” the 37-year-old said. “It’s nice to share things, but it’s like the ballet: there needs to be a mystery or people are going to get sick of you.”
The gala, which featured masked performances and a theme centered on intrigue, seemed to reflect Hamrick’s own views on fame. Asked what she most prefers to keep under wraps, the former ballerina replied with a smile, “My private life.”

Hamrick has mostly kept her relationship with Jagger and their notable age difference away from the spotlight. But in April, she opened up a bit more, confirming to Paris Match that she and the Rolling Stones legend have been engaged for a while, saying he actually popped the question “two or three years ago.”
“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not,” Hamrick told the outlet back then, adding, “We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”
