The video captures a tense exchange between the two, with Rourke's responses becoming progressively stranger. The interview, conducted in July 2022, centered on Rourke's reasons for posting an image on Twitter that showed the Statue of Liberty crying.
This led to the unexpected claim that the actor received a visit from the Secret Service for speaking ill of Trump.
“They call it the United States of America but it’s now the Divided States of America and there’s one big reason for that but I’m not going to go into it because I don’t need another visit from the Secret Service,” he said.
When Morgan questioned him, “When did you have one before?” Rourke answered, “Oh, about six months ago.” This led Morgan to inquire, “Why?”
To this, Rourke, following a lengthy silence, replied, “Take a wild guess.”
Morgan then questioned, “Was it because of something you said about President Trump?” Rourke affirmed this, stating that he had spoken ”the truth.”
When Morgan pressed the actor for an explanation, Rourke, maintaining a stony expression and after a prolonged pause, responded quietly, “Read my mind.”

He’s not f*****g president. It takes a lot to out-dumb Mickey Rourke, but there it is."
