LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Millie Bobby Brown is opening up about her love for video games, sharing her excitement for the upcoming release of 'GTA 6' and revealing an unexpected way she plays the long-running franchise.
The 'Stranger Things' star also spoke about her long-standing interest in gaming titles like 'The Sims 4' and 'Fortnite', while reflecting on both her creative downtime and the challenges of filming her latest projects, including 'Enola Holmes 3'.
Millie Bobby Brown calls GTA her favorite game and shares unusual gameplay style
Speaking on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Millie Bobby Brown said 'GTA' remains her favorite video game of all time and admitted she had kept her enthusiasm for the franchise relatively private until recently.
“I follow the rules in GTA. I don't break the rules. I stop at the red lights, I never run anyone over,” she said. Recalling her husband Jake Bongiovi’s reaction, she added, “My husband is like, 'Why are you playing this like it's The Sims?” She also joked that even in situations where chaos is expected, she prefers a controlled approach.
“I’m not a hitman, I’m a vigilante,” she said, describing how she approaches missions in the game while maintaining a strict in-game code of conduct.
Beyond 'GTA', Brown has often spoken about her love for 'The Sims 4' and 'Fortnite'. She became a Sims Ambassador in 2018 during the promotion of the Seasons expansion. In a previous WIRED interview, she said, “I play Sims 4 and I love it. I like live mode and I also like building homes in it, I also am a vet in it, so I'm just living vicariously through my Sims character.”
Millie Bobby Brown reflects on challenges while filming 'Enola Holmes 3' in Malta
Brown also discussed the challenges of filming 'Enola Holmes 3', particularly the extreme heat conditions in Malta while shooting in period costumes.
“It was hot and being in that clothing... it was not Malta-friendly,” she said during the podcast appearance. The film features her return as Enola Holmes alongside Louis Partridge, Helena Bonham Carter, and Henry Cavill.
She revealed that the heat became so intense that she requested additional cooling support on set for the cast and crew. “Basically my sole job for two months was keeping the crew and cast cool,” she said.
Brown added that the conditions sometimes made filming more difficult, comparing it to earlier projects where outdoor environments also posed challenges. Despite the difficulties, she said filming in Malta remained a memorable experience that helped expand the franchise’s visual scale beyond London.
