Millie Bobby Brown reveals American ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars used to 'food shame' her
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Millie Bobby Brown recently revealed that her British meals used to shock her American ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars a lot.
The 22-year-old actress made the revelation during a recent visit to Sean Evans' ‘Hot Ones’.
Millie Bobby Brown says American ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars made fun of her for eating jacket potatoes
Brown shared, “When I was on 'Stranger Things', I used to get food shamed a lot by, when I would go on like they’d be all American. Because they were like, it’s like you live in the 1800s and you found some like specialty– I would like, it’s wrapped in tinfoil, and I’d be like [eating motion].”
“But then I would like to hide in a corner because they’d be like, what is that? And I was just like, it’s a jacket potato with beans and cheese. It’s nothing. So they didn’t get it. But when I go on set in England, everybody’s like, I want a jacket,” she added.
'Stranger Things' receives seven Emmy nominations for Season 5
The mother-of-one played the role of Jane Hopper, aka Eleven, on all five seasons of the Netflix sci-fi series. Her co-stars were David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, Caleb McLaughlin, Maya Hawke, Joe Keery, and Gaten Matarazzo.
Brown's remarks came as it was reported that ‘Stranger Things’ received seven Emmy nominations in 2026. However, none of the nominations were in major categories, like Outstanding Drama Series, Writing, Directing, and Acting.
Millie Bobby Brown says she is 'very drawn to action'
Elsewhere during the sit-down, Brown also disclosed whether she thinks herself an action star.
“No, I mean I wouldn’t consider myself an action star,” she asserted. The ‘Enola Holmes’ star, however, stated that she’s “very drawn to action. But like similar to like, I’m not in any way comparing myself to Tom Cruise because he is amazing, but he is such a fantastic actor, but he’s so brilliant in action.”
Brown further added that though she finds action scenes fun and even considers doing that, she also “do love the very long lengthy monologue scene. So a few of my next films are less action. That’s exciting to get out of that world. Not be on wires you know? I feel like I’ve been on wires for like 10 years.”
Millie Bobby Brown said 'dear friend' Tom Cruise 'does the craziest stuff'
Earlier in June, during an interview, Brown had called Cruise a “dear friend” and also disclosed that she once got a chance to fly the A-lister’s helicopter. She, however, found the experience uncomfortable.
“He's a dear friend. He's a wonderful man, and I'm very lucky to call him my friend. Tom does the craziest stuff. I think he's trying to get me to somehow fly a plane at some point,” she said.
Brown then claimed that she indeed “flown his helicopter before,” but she “was like, 'This is the last time I ever fly any of his equipment.’”
