BRONX, NEW YORK: After Major League Baseball's (MLB) official social media underscored Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's constant screen time at Yankee Stadium for Game 1 of the American League Championship Series (ALCS) between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians on Monday, October 14, baseball fans did not mince words while expressing their frustations.

Known for her regular appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games to support her boyfriend, Swift has recently become a familiar face in sports circles. But this time, fans of America’s favorite pastime had a different reaction.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift steal the spotlight at ALCS Game 1

While some welcomed Taylor Swift’s presence, others expressed exhaustion over the constant screen time she and Travis Kelce received during the broadcast.

According to Daily Mail, “Who cares” and “shut up” became the rallying cries for those frustrated by the attention being shifted away from the game.

When the official MLB Twitter account posted a video of the couple, the comment section exploded with apathy, as fans weren’t afraid to let their disinterest be known.

To make matters even more complicated, the Yankees bested the Kansas City Royals—home to Kelce’s beloved Chiefs—in four games to make it to the ALCS.

Meanwhile, the Guardians knocked out the Detroit Lions in five games. And with the ALCS heating up, both teams now await the outcome of the Dodgers and Mets series to see who their next challenge will be.



 

As per USA Today, the New York Yankees took a 1-0 lead in the American League Championship Series with a 5-2 win over the Cleveland Guardians.

Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton hit home runs, while Carlos Rodón allowed just three baserunners in three innings.



 

Closer Luke Weaver secured a five-out save, extinguishing an eighth-inning threat.

The Yankees will send ace Gerrit Cole to the mound for Game 2, aiming to extend their lead before the series moves to Ohio.

Their strong all-around performance gives them an early advantage in the series.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who recently went on a double date with friends Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, stirred angry reactions from fans over the screen time they received during their appearance at the ALCS Game 1.

A viewer expressed, "Who cares."

In a similar fashion, another observer added, "They’re already on tv enough in football, we don’t need them here too."

Furthermore, a viewer pointed out, "Quit glazing these people and stick to baseball."

Joining the discussion, a person shared, "Do they even like baseball?"
