Pedro Pascal wins over fans as he admits being ‘little drunk’ in emotional SAG Awards acceptance speech
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pedro Pascal appeared tipsy while giving his acceptance speech at the 30th Screen Actors Guild Awards. However, the actor who played the role of a stoic Joel in 'The Last Of Us' appeared all teary-eyed while receiving his award, sparking a frenzy across the Internet and making his fans gush over his innocence.
Pascal is one of those actors who has proved his mark with his versatility by showcasing his chameleon-like qualities as he brought to life diverse characters on screen.
Notably, Pascal has been the core of every discussion for his fans, and especially the Marvel fanatics, as he bagged the role of none other than the 'smartest man alive', Reed Richards in Marvel's 'The Fantastic Four' reboot slated to hit theatres on July 25, 2025.
Social media users were recently convinced why Pascal is suitable for the role of Reed Richards. While participating in the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations interview, Pascal discussed his indigenous way of memorizing lines with Kieran Culkin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Billy Crudup, which blew their minds.
Branding his own method as somewhat psychotic, Pascal even made the 'Succession' star Culkin uneasy, who labeled Pascal's approach as 'gibberish'.
Pedro Pascal makes a 'drunk' acceptance speech
Pascal earned a huge round of applause as he ascended to the stage in a drunken state to accept his first SAG award. The awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 25, with Netflix as its official streaming partner.
According to People Magazine, surpassing an exceptional line of A-list actors in the category of Best Male Actor in a Drama Series, the 'Mandalorian' star bagged the award for his role as Joel in the post-apocalyptic HBO series 'The Last Of Us' adapted from a game of the same name, and created by Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin.
Kicking off his speech with the admission of receiving the award in a slightly inappropriate manner, referring to his intoxicated state, Pascal began, "This is wrong, for a number of reasons. I'm a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk. And thank you, HBO for ... geez Louise, I'm making a fool of myself. But thank you so much for this!"

The auditorium broke into cheers of celebration for the man of the moment.
He further stated, "I’ve been in the union since 1999 so this is an incredible f**king honor. To the nominees, all of you, I can’t remember any of your names right now.” Pascal continued by expressing gratitude toward the makers of 'The Last Of Us', and his family as he started to feel the emotion set in.
Pascal struggled to maintain composure as tears welled up in his eyes, seemingly overwhelmed with the reality. He admitted, "I'm going to have a panic attack and I'm going to leave."
Backstage, Pascal gave an insight into his thoughts on the win. The actor conveyed that he was still processing the moment and stated, "I don't remember what I said. I just was very surprised. ... Let's YouTube it later."
