MrBeast announces engagement to GF Thea Booysen as couple plans 'intimate' island wedding
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: MrBeast, born Jimmy Donaldson, is officially engaged to his girlfriend of two years, Thea Booysen.
The 26-year-old proposed to Booysen, 27, on Christmas Day at their home, surrounded by both of their families.

Speaking about the proposal, MrBeast said, “I wanted to make the moment special and ensure her family was part of it."
The surprise proposal came during the final moments of their holiday gift exchange.
After asking Booysen to close her eyes, he presented her with a diamond ring on a rose gold band.
“She opened her eyes, and of course, she said yes,” Booysen told People. She described her excitement as “overwhelming.”

MrBeast and Thea Booysen first met in South Africa in 2022 through a mutual friend during one of MrBeast’s visits.

Initially, Booysen thought their connection would end after his trip back to the US.
However, MrBeast soon slid into her DMs, expressing interest in her work as an author and sparking a connection that grew through long conversations.
“I fell in love with his brain,” said Booysen, adding, “His intelligence, drive, and character stood out. That’s everything to me.”
Their relationship blossomed, with MrBeast returning to South Africa shortly after to meet her again.

“I wanted the engagement to be private, and the wedding will be the same,” the YouTube star said.
The couple is considering an island venue for their nuptials, inviting only close friends and family.
Booysen echoed his sentiments, emphasizing their focus on simplicity. “We’re thinking of doing it somewhere far away, not extravagant but special,” she said.
