MrBeast reveals Elon Musk's bizarre question from their first meeting, sends Internet into frenzy
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Elon Musk was brutally trolled on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, after MrBeast shared what his first question to him was during a podcast interview on Wednesday, December 4, as per Unilad.
Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, made the revelation when he appeared on fellow YouTuber Theo Von's 'This Past Weekend' podcast to talk about his life, career, and philanthropy.
The host described both Musk and MrBeast as "pioneers in certain schools of thought." However, the latter humbly pointed out that while Musk engaged himself with ways of "taking us to Mars... talking through your phone with your brain (and) fixing traffic," he is "pioneering funny videos."
What did Elon Musk ask MrBeast during their first meeting?
MrBeast shared that he came across Elon Musk at the Super Bowl and the tech billionaire attempted to pick his brain on account of being one of the most popular social media stars.
Joking that he did not know if he and Musk were on the "same level," the 26-year-old told Von, "But yeah we bumped into each other at the Super Bowl, said 'Hi.' I think he asked me, 'Do I think people call X 'Twitter' still, or do people call it X?'"
MrBeast apparently did not shy away from giving Musk a reality check, stating, "I was like, 'Uh, most people call it Twitter, that I've noticed.'" He added that the Tesla CEO called this "interesting."
Internet agrees with MrBeast's response to Elon Musk's question
Elon Musk acquired Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion and rebranded it to X in July 2023. He even changed the familiar blue bird logo to a black-and-white symbol denoting the new name. However, people are still not buying into the rebrand, similar to what MrBeast thinks.
One wrote, "We call it Twitter still," and another said, "When you rebrand so hard even the name gets an identity crisis."
"What an idiot," jibed a person, while someone else added, "It's Twitter Elon. It will always be Twitter."
"I will forever deadname this godawful app," remarked an individual. One more mocked the tech mogul, writing, "Elon still thinks he’s one of the kids lol."
Another person offered, "I don’t think I’ve seen a REAL person call it X."
