MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: On Tuesday July 24, MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki praised Vice President Kamala Harris for her campaign appearance in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, describing it as a “delicious dose of trolling” aimed squarely at Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

Psaki’s comments came in the wake of the Republican National Convention held in Milwaukee just the previous week, where the expectation had been that the Republicans would be facing off not against Harris, but against President Joe Biden.

Psaki began by highlighting the recent surge in campaign donations and volunteer support for Harris since Sunday, before turning her attention to Harris’ impactful visit to the pivotal battleground state.

“She did it with a delicious — and I mean delicious — dose of trolling Donald Trump and the Republicans,” Psaki remarked, emphasizing the strategic significance of the event’s location.

“Though her speech did not feature an authoritarian vision for the country’s future—obviously not. That’s not her vision.”

The former White House press secretary further contrasted Harris’ approach with the Republican National Convention’s spectacle.

“Nor did it include anyone who just recently left jail,” Psaki quipped, referencing the presence of former Trump White House adviser Peter Navarro at the convention shortly after his release from federal prison for defying a subpoena from the House Jan 6 Committee.

Psaki also pointed out that Harris’ event was notably different from the RNC’s dramatic moments.

“It had a very different vibe to it,” she said, before playing a clip from Harris’ speech.

The vice president’s address centered on a hopeful vision for the future. “We believe in a future where everyone has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead,” Harris told the crowd.

“A future where no child has to grow up in poverty. Where every worker has the freedom to join a union. Where every person has affordable healthcare, affordable childcare, and paid family leave.”

Psaki noted that the enthusiastic response from the crowd at Harris’ event reflected a broader sense of optimism among Democrats.

“Which is pretty encouraging,” she observed, “considering the weeks before that were dominated by painful, gut-wrenching conversations inside the party about the future of a guy they all love: Joe Biden.”
