ROME, GEORGIA: Marjorie Taylor Greene recently sounded the alarm over reports suggesting President Donald Trump may be weighing a massive deal that could open the door for China to invest $1 trillion in the US.

China’s alleged investment proposal has once again moved into the spotlight as Trump visits Beijing, where he is set to hold high-stakes talks with President Xi Jinping on issues ranging from trade and Taiwan to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The president first hinted at a possible deal in January, telling reporters, “If they (China) want to come in and build the plant and hire you and hire your friends and your neighbours, that’s great. I love that. Let China come in.”

MTG warns over Trump-China investment deal

Reports of the possible trade deal were first highlighted on social media by Fox News host Laura Ingraham, who shared the reporting alongside two exclamation marks.

Reacting to the post, Greene called the idea “shocking,” suggesting it could be tied to the conflict with Iran.

“The war in Iran must be going worse than we know as the Strait remains closed,” the former Georgia representative wrote.

“So much so that China may be allowed to build $1 Trillion in factories in the US, probably in exchange for help with Iran.”

“I’m old enough to remember when MAGA was demanding China not be allowed to own any land in America. But MAGA is whatever Trump says it is, according to him, so now it’s for foreign wars and China,” the once-MAGA firebrand continued.

However, as speculation surrounding the alleged deal spread rapidly across social media, a White House spokesperson pushed back, dismissing claims that the administration would entertain any agreement threatening national security as “baseless and false.”

“While the Administration is always seeking more investment into America’s industrial resurgence, any notion that we would ever compromise our national security is baseless and false,” spokesperson Kush Desai said.

MTG fallout with Trump and MAGA deepens

Greene’s statement about the possible trade deal came amid her fallout with the president and his MAGA world. Since stepping away from Congress, Greene has emerged as one of several MAGA voices openly condemning the war in Iran, arguing that it runs counter to Trump’s long-promised “America First” agenda.

Last week, Greene claimed that Trump told her she would “deserve” it if her son were killed after she allegedly received death threats tied to her campaign demanding the release of the Epstein files.

Greene claimed the threats against her escalated after Trump publicly labeled her a “traitor” amid a bitter clash over the release of government files tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

She further alleged that the president, who was once reportedly close to the convicted offender, had pressured lawmakers and the Justice Department to keep the Epstein files from becoming public.
