“And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him," the statement added.

Though he suffered from two back-to-back brain aneurysms in 1974 when he was 41 years old with one being discovered during 7.5 hours long operation, his cause of death is entirely different.

TMZ reported Jones died of pancreatic cancer.

Pancreatic cancer solely caused Quincy Jones's death

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health according to the publication listed pancreatic cancer as the sole cause of the music legend's death.

According to the documents, there were no other contributing factors to his death, it reported.

The legendary musician's daughter, Rashida Jones of 'Parks and Recreation' fame, wrote a heartfelt tribute to her late father on Instagram.

“My dad was nocturnal his whole adult life. He kept ‘jazz hours’ starting in high school and never looked back,” Rashida, known for her role in 'The Office', shared a throwback photo of herself as a baby, cuddled up to her father's face.

“When I was little, I would wake up in the middle of the night to search for him. Undoubtedly, he would be somewhere in the house, composing (old school, with a pen and sheet music). He would never send me back to bed," she wrote.

Rashida, who is one of Jones’ seven children, wrote that her father would “smile and bring me into his arms while he continued to work... there was no safer place in the world for me.”
