LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Quincy Jones' vicious criticism of notorious rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs at a music industry event over a decade ago has surfaced again following the iconic music producer's death on Sunday night, November 3.

Jones, who died at the age of 91, was not intimidated by Diddy's bluster and was not scared to show it either. It turned out that even before the accusations of the rapper's misconduct surfaced, the late music producer shared his opinions about Diddy.

Following the announcement of Quincy Jones' death, his remarks about disgraced rap mogul Diddy from a 2012 interview have resurfaced on social media.

In a June 2012 interview with Bruno Mars and the crowd at a Spotify launch event, Jones attacked Diddy, claiming the rapper "wouldn't know a B-flat if it hit him," reported Daily Mail.

Jones instead asserted at the time that musicians should "learn your craft" and claimed that "P Diddy has a doctorate in marketing…. He’s got clothes companies and Ciroc vodka."

After his remarks against Diddy went viral at the time, Jones posted on Facebook to clarify that he had no malice intended for the rapper.

"No controversy, no diss. I have nothing but love and respect for Diddy and all that he has achieved as an artist and an executive. Always have and always will," Jones wrote.

Diddy is currently incarcerated at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, where he will celebrate his 55th birthday. The rapper—awaiting trial on federal counts of trafficking and racketeering—is also scheduled to appear in federal court later on Monday, November 11.

Diddy was the target of a flurry of legal action when he was accused of assault in late 2023. Cassie Ventura, his ex-girlfriend, filed a civil complaint alleging that he mistreated her.
