DUSSELDORF, GERMANY: Prince William has always found delight in soccer amid his wife Kate Middleton's and his father King Charles' cancer treatments.

As a result, the heir flew to Germany to cheer on England in their UEFA EURO quarterfinal match against Switzerland at Dusseldorf Arena on Saturday, July 6.

The Prince of Wales, 42, was spotted celebrating England's stunning victory—which came down to a thrilling penalty shootout—with fist pumps in the air.

England won and moved on to the semifinals of Euro 2024, per People.

William has been a football fan for a long time and regularly attends games to cheer on the team as President of The Football Association.

Following England's exciting victory over Switzerland in a penalty shootout, it was William pumping his fist in the air in delight.

William shared his thoughts in an Instagram Stories message posted to the account for the Prince and Princess of Wales: "Nail biting to the very end. Well done @England! Semi-finals here we come! We believe. W."

William, who is well-known for his love of sports, was seen putting his head in his hands at one point during the game and was definitely on the edge of his seat at some points.

The boisterous Prince of Wales was pictured raising his hands in the air in celebration of Bukayo Saka's winning penalty.

Saka's amazing strike in the 90th minute of the match propelled the Three Lions into the semi-finals following the shootout, per The US Sun.

William enjoyed the match from the stands with his peers of UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, UEFA Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti, and former Portugal ace Luis Figo.

Prince William finds solace in soccer

Prince William, who has been outspoken in his backing of the Three Lions throughout the competition, was present in the grandstand earlier in June when the squad played Denmark in Frankfurt.

William was spotted at England's 1-1 tie with Denmark in their group-stage match in June. He was seen at Frankfurt Arena taking in the game with King Frederik of Denmark.

The prince and his son George have occasionally gone to soccer matches together in recent times. William has found solace in soccer during his father King Charles' and his wife Kate's cancer treatments.

The Prince of Wales was spotted in May at Villa Park, Aston Villa's home stadium in Birmingham when the team was playing Greek team Olympiacos in the first leg of the Europa Conference League semifinal.

A source previously told People, "He has been hugely buoyed by the results of Aston Villa. You shouldn’t overlook the importance of soccer in these moments."

Social media users went bonkers over the royal's crazy reaction following England's epic Euro win. One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, "Nobody can doubt your passion for the sport or the country! Fabulous photos of a committed supporter"
