SOUTH CAROLINA, COLUMBIA: Nancy Mace has reportedly revealed her reason for supporting Donald Trump over Kamala Harris as the next president of the US.

During a Fox News interview, the 46-year-old politician stated, "I’m voting for Donald Trump because I am a woman,” according to the Daily Beast

She also mocked Kamala Harris for giving her first interview on CNN with her running mate, Tim Walz.

“Nothing says ‘I’m a woman, hear me roar,’ like having your first national interview sit-down with a man by your side,” she mentioned.

Nancy Mace claims Trump would protect women

Nancy Mace, who was raped as a teenager, told the media that she wants a leader who “would protect women like me, who are survivors of rape,” despite a nine-person civil jury ruling that E Jean Carroll’s rape allegation against Trump was "substantially true."

The representative for South Carolina's 1st congressional district continued, “I’m voting for Donald Trump because I want to be sure that biological men aren’t in the locker room showering next to my underage daughter.”

“I want to make sure men aren’t stealing women’s achievements in sports or academics or their scholarships, and that’s why, as a woman, I support Donald Trump,” she added.

Nancy Mace says Donald Trump ‘is best for our country’

However, this is not the first time Nancy Mace has supported Donald Trump; she has endorsed him in the past as well.

Former President Donald Trump listens as his attorney Todd Blanche speaks during a press conference at 40 Wall Street after a pre-trial hearing on March 25, 2024 in New York City. Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. When George Stephanopoulos questioned her on ABC’s ‘This Week’ in March, she replied, “I will tell you that I was raped at the age of 16, and any rape victim will tell you I’ve lived for 30 years with an incredible amount of shame," The Daily Beast reported.

“I didn’t come forward because of that judgment and shame that I felt, and it’s a shame that you will never feel George, and I’m not going to sit here on your show and be asked a question meant to shame me about another potential rape victim. I’m not going to do that,” she asserted.

Mace also expressed at the time that she felt offended and stated, “I endorsed the man that I believe is best for our country. It’s not Joe Biden.”

Netizens accuse Nancy Mace of having ‘no interest in fighting for women’

Meanwhile, people have a lot to say about Nancy Mace’s recent statement online.

One user tweeted, “Yeah, she’s a moron. Trump has never wanted, nor does he currently want, to help women except to himself. He is terrified about the female population of this country having any autonomy, bodily or otherwise.” [sic]

Another user commented, “It’s like a chicken going to KFC.”

A user noted, “Mace said what? I must have misread the part about Trump protecting women.”

“Once again, the right has no sense of irony, nor do they recognize their own hypocrisy,” another stated.

A user said, “She has no interest in fighting for women.”

A tweet read, “Nancy Mace is PATHETIC!!!!!!!!”

Another tweeted, “Isn't this classic cult behavior? Thinking a perpetrator is going to protect you from the thing that you experienced happening again?”
