WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Nancy Mace ripped into Vice President Kamala Harris in a chaotic CNN segment after she intentionally mispronounced the presumptive Democratic nominee's name.

Her appearance on CNN on Thursday, August 15, went off the rails after she attacked the VP's womanhood while refusing to call out former president Donald Trump's racist attacks against Harris.

Insisting on mispronouncing Harris' name despite criticism from other panelists, the South Carolina Republican said she would say the Democrat's name "anyway that I want to," later adding, "doesn't know what a woman is," reported HuffPost.

"Talk about reruns, Kamala's—Kamala's," Mace started, saying it correctly initially but mispronouncing it right after by stressing the second syllable.

Nancy Mace's attack on Kamala Harris irks CNN panel

After Nancy Mace declined to pronounce Harris' name correctly, another panelist, Michael Eric Dyson, professor in African American studies at Vanderbilt University, called her out, deeming the remarks "disgusting."

"You know what, you know what's disgusting to women is her disrespect of women," the congresswoman said in retort.

Mace said Harris "doesn't know what a woman is. And 25 years ago..." before Dyson cut her off.

"White women don't have the ability to tell Black women who paid the price of blood to make this country what it is to tell them they're not real women," the professor responded, turning the panel discussion into a war of words.

Mace's absurd statement came after Dyson suggested her "any way I want to" comment reflected "the history and legacy of white disregard for the humanity of Black people."

In return, the lawmaker asked him whether he was calling her a "racist."

"I didn't say—," Dyson responded before engaging in a heated exchange on the CNN panel.

With her latest spiral, Mace joined Trump, ex-Georgia Senator David Perdue, and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson among those who have mispronounced Harris's name. When asked about the same in July, the former president said he "couldn't care less," as per The Daily Beast.

The most recent instance of the ex-president botching Harris's name was during his interview with Elon Musk, where he called her "Camilla" instead of Kamala. Camilla, the wife of King Charles III, is the Queen consort of the United Kingdom.

Nancy Mace refuses to denounce Trump for questioning Kamala Harris' racial identity

Further, into the panel discussion, CNN's Abby Phillip pressed Mace on whether Trump should stop claiming his Democratic opponent is "not actually Black" when he doubted her racial identity in July.

"Well, I mean, I, I, I didn't hear him say it, I didn't hear what he said about her race, I'm not gonna weigh in on her race," the congresswoman said, dodging the question and adding Harris was of "mixed race."

The real estate mogul last month asserted his rival, who was born to an Indian mother and Jamaican father, embraced her Black identity only recently.

Democratic strategist Keith Boykin insisted Mace answer "yes" before claiming she was in a "cult" led by Trump.

"The fact that you talk to women this way is ridiculous," Mace riposted to which Boykin said, "You just talked about a Black woman that way." This prompted the Republican to reiterate her insult against Harris, asserting the VP "doesn't know what a woman is."

"Nancy Mace deserves no respect until she shows respect. Respect is earned," an individual remarked.

"What a privileged feral," someone else chimed in.

"Nancy, what you are exhibiting here is what is commonly referred to as 'white fragility'. Thank you for showing everyone that it’s a real thing," another user wrote.

"The mispronunciation is intentional. It’s both disrespectful and unserious (“owning the libs”). @NancyMace is another who debases herself to stay in good standing and advance within a cultish authoritarian movement. Shame on her," read one remark.
