Nancy Pelosi faces backlash over bizarre behavior at Bob Weir tribute event
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Nancy Pelosi has been slammed online for her apparent strange behavior at an event honoring Bob Weir, who died on January 10.
The tribute event, held on Saturday, January 17, at San Francisco's Civic Center, was attended by thousands of people, including the former House Speaker.
Pelosi, wearing a bright magenta suit, also delivered a speech at the tribute ceremony.

However, she appeared to stumble over her words while speaking about the Grateful Dead co-founder and his legacy.
She said, “Bobby Weir was not just a magician, musician – a magician too – he was a force of nature.”
At one point, Pelosi also mentioned that the late musician “gave me this sign, and I'll show it today, because I said Bobby really loved democracy, he loved our country,” as she held up a sign reading "vote."
“You know what he wanted everybody to do? Vote!” the 85-year-old politician added.
Internet accuses Nancy Pelosi of being 'drunk'
However, people online appeared to be annoyed with Pelosi as one X (formerly Twitter) user stated, “Is Nancy Pelosi drunk at the Bob Weir Homecoming?”
Another user commented, “Not to mention the color of that suit.”
“When public figures turn solemn moments into awkward spectacles, the internet is going to notice. A memorial should honor the person being remembered, not spark a whole new round of secondhand embarrassment,” a person on X shared.

“RIP Bob Weir. I enjoyed the Tibetan chanting but turned it off when Nancy Pelosi came on. Buzz kill. Destruction like the the deep state destruction that DESTROYED the peace and love,” an X user commented.

Bob Weird died from lung issues
Weir was 78 when he died. As per his Instagram, he “transitioned peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, after courageously beating cancer as only Bobby could. Unfortunately, he succumbed to underlying lung issues.”
The post concluded saying that “may we honor him not only in sorrow, but in how bravely we continue with open hearts, steady steps, and the music leading us home. Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings.”
