Nathan Wade warns Donald Trump's 'day of reckoning' is coming

Trump previously slammed Wade and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis for the affair they had which led to the prosecutor stepping down from the election interference case against the former president.

The 77-year-old politician, who called Willis "Fani Wade," also criticized her for hiring Wade who he claimed lacked relevant experience.

In response to MSNBC's Joy Reid's question about whether Trump would have to go to trial for the Georgia election interference case, Wade warned "That day of reckoning is coming."

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. "I do not believe that it'll go before the election, the court of appeals, they have a job to do, when that'll happen I don't know. I'm certainly not trying to opine as to what they'll tell you," he added.

When pressed by Reid about what Wade believed was the strongest piece of evidence against the former president, the former Trump prosecutor declined to reveal.

"I am not going to tell you that," he told Reid.

He shared that Willis is "the only other person on the planet who knows what I’m going through, and I know what she is going through. We communicate daily."

"You know, during the course of the prosecution, when I was part of the team, we talked all the time, but we talked about the case. It was about business," he continued.

Wade, who was hired by the Fulton County DA in 2021, stepped down from the election interference case after Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee ruled that either he or Willis had to recuse themselves.
