Colin Jost later told NBC Olympics grandmaster Mike Tirico, “My new goal is to have as many infections as there are Olympic Events,” referring to his foot and ear infection while covering the sport from Tahiti.

With the delay in the scheduled 2024 Olympic Surfing Semifinals and Finals, Jost left Tahiti and has been replaced by Luke Bradnam, who is a weatherman from Channel Nine in Australia.

It is unknown if Jost will be making a return to the NBC coverage team, reported Deadline.

Jost himself gave an update on Instagram. Where he shared a funny clip, and captioned, “Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Semis and finals of Olympic surfing happening right now in Tahiti.”
