WASHINGTON, DC: The Justice Department on Friday, December 19, released new files related to Jeffrey Epstein that show former President Bill Clinton and Rolling Stones frontman Sir Mick Jagger dining alongside Epstein and his convicted associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

One image appears to show Clinton and Jagger seated closely with a woman whose face was blacked out. Federal officials emphasized that appearing in the newly released materials does not imply involvement in or knowledge of Epstein and Maxwell’s crimes and urged the public not to draw premature conclusions.

The Justice Department released the files after facing a legal deadline to make them public by Friday. The release followed months of pressure from both Democrats and Republicans to disclose Epstein-related materials. Acting under a bipartisan mandate, the department made public a large collection of FBI files, court records, and photographs.

Officials heavily redacted many sections to protect victims, the DOJ said. In a letter to lawmakers, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche explained that teams of attorneys reviewed hundreds of thousands of pages, including investigative files, digital records, and photos, to determine what the law allows them to release. The department expects to release more Epstein-related materials in the coming weeks.

Congress required the disclosure after passing a bipartisan law mandating federal officials to release all unclassified documents tied to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence.

Bill Clinton appears most frequently in these materials, while President Donald Trump appears very little. The records include photos of Clinton with Epstein in Brunei, Thailand, Morocco, and aboard several private jets. The photos do not clarify the purpose of these trips, and there is very little background information. Survivors of Epstein’s abuse have not accused Clinton of any wrongdoing. The release also includes images of other celebrities, including Michael Jackson, who have not appeared in previous reporting on the case.

Bill Clinton’s spokesperson responds to Epstein file releases

After the release, a spokesperson for Bill Clinton responded. The spokesperson said the photos are old and unclear and claimed the issue is not about Clinton. "They can release as many grainy 20-plus-year-old photos as they want, but this isn’t about Bill Clinton."

He explained that some people did not know about Epstein’s "crimes" and ended contact before the crimes became public, while others continued their "relationships" afterward. He said Clinton belongs to the first group and argued that delays or actions by the second group do not change that.

"We’re in the first. No amount of stalling by people in the second group will change that."
