News station failing to ‘clock in’ Zendaya and her mom strolling in Boston leaves Internet in splits

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Zendaya is one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, yet one news channel’s failure to “clock in” the ‘Euphoria’ actress has gone viral on the internet. 

The 28-year-old actress is currently in Boston, filming for ‘The Drama’ with co-star Robert Pattinson. 

Meanwhile, whenever she is not busy with filming, the ‘Dune’ star is exploring the city. Recently, she was joined by her mother Claire Stoermer, as the duo embarked on a mother-daughter date on the first day of December.

Zendaya and her mom go unmentioned by local news channel

Zendaya was recently found strolling through Boston’s shopping district on Newbury St with her mother, per the New York Post.

While the local news channel WCVB aired footage of the duo strolling on Sunday, December 1, the station failed to “clock in” the star, thus leading to a plethora of trolling by fans on social media. 

A TikTok user by the name @chlomance pointed out the gaffe as she shared a clip of the news channel on her social media with the caption, “WCVB Channel 5 shooting b-roll and not clocking they got Zendaya.”

As it appeared to be, the TikToker’s pointed mention helped the news channel rectify their mistake, as they aired the same footage later with the caption “star-studded stroll.”

Nevertheless, the damage was already done as the internet was not letting it slide and took to the TikTok user’s comment section to air their views. 

Since then, the WCVB reporter Matt Reed too commented on the viral clip, as he acknowledged the fumble, writing, “Thanks for letting us know!” 

Internet urges news station to 'mention' Zendaya

The comment section was divided in their views, as a section of the fans were surprised that the channel did not 'clock in' Zendaya and her mother. Another section was, however, surprised looking at her mother's height as they conjectured Zendaya's mother should be more than 6'3" in height. 

One of the social media users commented on TikTok, "How did none of the reporters notice from the footage?"

Someone else, however, surmised, "I feel like the reporter was like hey we should mention that’s Zendaya… and most likely they got turned down."

"Zendaya accidentally being on local news is hilarious," added someone else. 

Another social media user exclaimed, "They caught zendaya having a stroll with her mom 😭."

Someone else chimed in, "That’s hilarious to get her and her mom 😂 I just wanna know if she seen it."

Another fan urged the channel to acknowledge Zendaya, writing, "@WCVB Channel 5 Boston mention 😌."

Another group of fans, however, was surprised by the height of the star's mother, as they said, "Zendaya’s mom must be like 6’3."

"Her momma makes zendaya look small lol love it," noted someone else.

Another netizen noted, "Didn’t realize how tall Zendaya mom is till now, cause Zendaya like 5’10 lol."

"Zendaya is not short. her mom is really tall 😳," said another fan.
