Nicholas Godejohn: Gypsy Rose Blanchard's ex-BF who fatally stabbed her mom shares e-mail from prison
SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS: Nicholas Godejohn, the ex-boyfriend of Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared a cryptic e-mail from jail stating he's waiting for "true time to speak" addressing himself as “Mr. Smiley.”
Godejohn is currently serving a life sentence for the first-degree murder of Blanchard's mother. He sent an E-mail to a news source.
What did Nicholas Godejohn's e-mail read?
In the e-mail sent to New York Post, Godejohn wrote, “I want people to know that I am not lost in the ether of all of what is going on with whom shall not be named, I am just being patient for my true time to speak."
Throughout the exchange, he included six smiley faces and declined to use Blanchard's name.
"A lot of these questions will be answered in a foreseeable interview at the right time, which is not now," he said.
Ending the email with "True sincerity, Nicholas (Mr. Smiley) Godejohn." Since Blanchard's release from prison last month, Godejohn has remained silent. Prior to being granted parole, Blanchard was serving a ten-year sentence for second-degree murder.
Gypsy Rose claims to be persuaded by Nicholas Godejohn to stab her mother
In 2015, the two were found guilty of Clauddine 'Dee Dee' Blanchard's murder. Gypsy Rose acknowledged that she had persuaded Godejohn to stab her mother, who was thought to be suffering from Munchausen by proxy.
Munchausen by proxy is a mental illness in which a parent or guardian makes up a medical condition that their child is suffering from.
Ryan Anderson, a teacher in Louisiana, and Gypsy Rose are now wed. In 2022, the pair tied the knot while Gypsy Rose remained incarcerated. On behalf of Godejohn, public defenders have filed an appeal for a new trial, according to KY3.
He claimed during his previous trial that he was not in a state of mind fit for first-degree murder. According to public defender Tyler Coyle, the jury ought to have only found him guilty of second-degree murder, the station was informed.
