LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicki Minaj acknowledged Taylor Swift as one of her favorites in the music industry in a livestream on Stationhead, as per The Mirror US.

According to the publication, the rapper played songs of women artists she was honoring in the stream, which included stars such as Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, Rihanna, and Ariana Grande, aside from Swift.

The 42-year-old rapper noted that the artists were some of her "fave girls of all time," calling them "icons." Screenshots from the stream were captured by listeners and shared across social media platforms.

During that year's MTV Video Music Awards, Minaj took to social media to rant, "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well. When the 'other' girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination."

'Anaconda', released in August 2014, has since amassed over a billion views on YouTube.

Swift, who had received nine nominations at the 2015 VMAs, including Video of the Year (which she ultimately won), felt that some of Minaj's words were aimed at her. She went on to respond, "I've done nothing but love and support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot."

However, the two have reportedly worked out their issues since. Not only did Minaj compliment Swift on her music in 2023, she admitted that she would collaborate with her "in a heartbeat."
