Ben McDonald claimed Scott Swift attacked him

The paparazzo reportedly claimed that Taylor Swift and her father Scott were leaving a party on a ferry wharf  when Scott “charged” toward him and hit him on the left side of his face.

McDonald said, “He probably decided he needed to defend his daughter, for some reason. In 23 years I have never seen anything like it.”

Also, New South Wales Police reportedly said that the accuser “reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command".

Taylor Swift’s rep called paps ‘aggressors’

But Swift’s representative said, “Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water.”

Ben McDonald was asked to keep distance from Nicole Kidman

Now, Page Six has revealed that McDonald along with his pal Jamie Fawcett harassed Kidman so much that she had to take a restraining order against them in 2005.

The actress, at the time, said that the two men placed an electronic listening device outside her home, making her feel vulnerable.

She eventually won the case, and McDonald and Fawcett were banned from engaging in conversation with Kidman. They were also asked to keep at least 60 feet of distance from her residence.

Internet reacts to Ben McDonald's claims and history

Meanwhile, the case has attracted mixed comments online with an X user tweeting, “It's important for their safety and privacy to take legal action when necessary. Nicole Kidman's decision to obtain a restraining order shows her commitment to protecting herself and her loved ones. Privacy is a fundamental right, and it's crucial for celebrities to have measures in place to maintain it.”

Another user wrote, “So? TS PR pushing hard for a victim status on this one. The ‘altercation’ is on camera.  He was attacked, unprovoked. Paps can be obnoxious but you don’t have a right to attack them for no reason.”

The third one shared, “From the story I read about Taylor's Dad, I think this pap just wanted a moment linked to Taylor's name.”

“That’s just wrong what people do to get their name and money from someone who has to prove they r innocent,” the fourth user stated.

The fifth one added, “Ah yes, the same Ben McDonald that Nicole Kidman was granted a restraining order against for planting a listening device on her property. You think he’s telling the truth but Scott isn’t, why is that?”
