Looking back at old clips during her interview, Kidman was candid about her regrets over changing her natural curls early in her career.

“Why did I straighten my hair?” she said with a sigh of frustration followed by a giggle.

As images of her from the 1990 film 'Days of Thunder' appeared on the screen, she pointed out, “I loved my hair there. That is my natural hair,” Kidman told the interviewer.

She added, “Isn’t that crazy?” and offered advice to younger generations, saying, “So for all the little girls out there, embrace the curl. Do not follow in my steps and straighten your hair.”

Kidman also became emotional during the conversation, explaining how seeing her natural curls again reminded her of her children.

“I look like my daughters,” she said, referring to Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, whom she shares with husband Keith Urban. “Well, that makes sense,” Kidman continued.

Though the 'Big Little Lies' star rarely wears her natural curls now, she noted that her hair can still spring back with the right styling.

“I can do that to my hair still, but it needs to be kind of humid, and I need to use the right product,” said Kidman per Page Six.

In recent roles and public appearances, Nicole Kidman has continued to play with her look.

For the second season of 'Nine Perfect Strangers', which premiered on Hulu on May 21, she wears a sharp icy blond wig.

At the 2025 Met Gala, her dramatic two-toned pixie hairstyle had fans questioning if she had gone for a bold cut. She later cleared up the confusion.

“Everyone’s like, ‘Did you chop your hair off?’ I’m like, ‘No, I did not,’” Kidman said in an interview with Australian network Channel Seven’s Sunrise.
