Internet rejects Scarborough's criticism of Trump supporters' belief that fraud trial leads to Communism
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joe Scarborough and his co-host Mika Brzezinski reached a tipping point when Trump compared himself to the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, whose death in a Russian prison has triggered widespread condemnation and allegations against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Trump's likening of his legal troubles, including a $354 million judgment in a civil fraud case, to Navalny's plight, where he referred to the judgment as "a form of Navalny," and claimed that his indictment was transforming America into a "communist country," seemed to ignite Scarborough's frustration.
Scarborough slams Trump's fraud claims, denounces supporters' belief in Communism threat
Scarborough passionately expressed his frustration, saying, "It’s such a lie. It’s disgusting. It’s such a lie on every single level. A form of 'Navalny'? Communism? A guy that lies to banks, a guy that lies to creditors, a guy that lies to everybody about his property holdings."
Launching into a tirade against Trump's remarks, he said, "Listen, that would get any of us thrown in jail. That would get you thrown in jail. If you did that or that would get you, if not thrown in jail, that would get you fined."
"And so he’s been doing this for decades. People in Manhattan have been saying he’s been doing this for decades. And so finally, if there is a form of sort of Putinism in America, which, of course, it’s so funny. He didn’t say Putinism. He didn’t bring up Vladimir Putin," Scarborough added.
Scarborough continued his impassioned address, directing pointed words not only toward Trump but also towards his supporters and Republican lawmakers in Congress.
He stated, "Like, I just wonder, I wonder what the people in that crowd, and I think we have to start asking this of our fellow Americans, are the people in that crowd really stupid enough to believe that if justice finally comes to one shyster that somehow condemns America and makes it a 'communist nation' when actually American capitalism is stronger today than ever before?"
"Let me just say that again: American capitalism is stronger than ever before. We are crushing Chinese communism."
"I know there are really stupid people in Congress who go, 'Oh, these communists! Communists!' They throw that word around having absolutely no idea what that means. No idea what Marxism means", he continued.
Scarborough further said, "Hey just, like, anybody they are opposed to is either a pedophile or a Marxist. That shows you again how bankrupt intellectually, how bankrupt philosophically, how bankrupt spiritually the Republican Party is."
Scarborough questions Trump's affinity for Russia amidst communist rhetoric
Scarborough continued his critique, emphasizing the inconsistency in Trump's rhetoric by pointing out his apparent disregard for the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian government, despite Trump's fervent denunciation of communism.
He said, "Donald Trump loves Russia so much he should move there. If you move there– He’d hate it. Tucker Carlson, why don’t you move there? If you love Russia, if it’s so great if it’s a land of paradise."
"I mean, these are the lies. This is the BS we used to hear from Soviet leaders coming to the United States and talking on Larry King about what? A worker’s paradise– go to the workers [sic] paradise!" he added.
"Has a lower GDP than the state of Texas. California? This place everybody says the worst place is so horrible. California. Communist state. California has the fourth-largest GDP in the world. In the world, in the world, in the world," the host questioned.
Responses poured in, with some sarcastically remarking, "Lots of Trump supporters watch Joe, eh?" and others cynically quipping, "The fake fraud trial is communism. Duh."

Others dismissed Scarborough's remarks altogether, with one individual stating, "No one cares what perpetual propagandist Dilbert has to say" and another echoing, "Lots of Trump supporters watch Joe, eh?"
A couple of others said, "This isn't just sickening, it's pathetic," and "Trump should be comparing himself to Adolf Putin, not Alexei Navalny."
"Nothing surprises me about Trump. God save America from him and his M A G A cronies," expressed another.
