WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump has consistently grabbed headlines for an extended period. However, a recent petition advocating for the removal of his star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame has elicited indifference from social media users.

The controversy surrounding Trump heightened when he recently refuted accusations of 'bullying' made by the director of 'Home Alone 2', who suggested that Trump had exerted pressure on producers for a cameo in the movie.

The United States has updated its guidelines to U.S. citizens to maintain current social distancing practices through the end of April after the number of reported coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths doubled to over 2,000 nationwide within two days. Adding to the commotion, Trump faced backlash from Swifties after expressing the view that TIME had committed a significant error in awarding the 'Person of the Year' to Taylor Swift.

Trump's associates have also entered the conversation, particularly when his attorney, Alina Habba, made a grammatical error in a speech.

Petition filed to remove Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star

As reported by KTLA, a petition seeking the removal of Trump's star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame has garnered thousands of signatures.

Despite the star undergoing multiple replacements due to vandalism since its installation in 2007, no star has ever been permanently taken off the Walk of Fame, even in cases where celebrities experienced a downfall.

Initiated by Andrew Rudick, the petition has amassed over 3,800 signatures. However, Rudick has faced challenges, including a death threat and an attempted taser attack. Going further, he approached various city organizations, urging them to consider the permanent removal of Trump's star.

Rudick stressed, “I think the city should take themselves up on that charge and finally stop being ‘paper lion Democrats’ and act. Instead of saying ‘We’re going to talk the talk’ you know, you have to walk the walk too…and this is something that can happen.”

As per KTLA, Los Angeles City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, representing the area, acknowledged the absence of a known precedent for star removal. He mentioned that they are looking into where the authority lies, what the legal issues may be, and what a process for it might entail.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce clarified to KTLA that they lack the authority to remove anyone's star. As of the report, the offices of LA Mayor Karen Bass and Donald Trump had not provided immediate comments.
