BROADWAY, ILLINOIS: Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem was allegedly barred from entering the Village of Broadview Municipal Building in Illinois to use the bathroom on Friday, October 3.

In a video that went viral on social media, Noem said she was in the Chicago area to "do some operations to pick up some guys with criminal convictions" when she was denied entry to the federal building by city police.

In the clip, posted by conservative commentator Benny Johnson on X (formerly Twitter), a voice can be heard telling Kristi Noem and her colleagues, "No, you cannot!" after they asked to use the bathroom.

Noem said, "As much as these local leaders and governors talk about cooperating and having the backs of our law enforcement officers, this is what we have to put up with every single day. And all we’re doing is getting criminals, and terrorists, and cartels, and gang members off the streets."

Meanwhile, in a subsequent post on X, she wrote that "this is how JB Pritzker and his cronies treat our law enforcement," adding that their behavior is "absolutely shameful."

She noted that the Village of Broadview "receives at least $1 million in federal funding every year."

Last month, under the authority of President Donald Trump, ICE and DHS launched "Operation Midway Blitz," a federal immigration enforcement campaign by targeting so-called "criminal illegal aliens" across Chicago and Illinois.

Moreover, last week, the POTUS began to send federalized troops to the Windy City.

Meanwhile, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker strongly denounced both operations, accusing the Trump administration of overstepping authority and demanding on Friday that Noem be held publicly accountable.

City says Kristi Noem's statement is not the full story

Village of Broadview Municipal Building says the video shared on social media about Kristi Noem didn't show the full story.

In a statement, Village spokesperson David Ormsby said Noem appeared "unannounced" at the Village Hall and asked "for a meeting while Mayor Katrina Thompson was out of the building."

Ormsby added that Thompson was instead on her way to meet Noem at the ICE facility.

"Mayor Thompson went to the ICE center, accompanied by the Broadview Police Chief Thomas and officers, to ask for the illegal fence to be dismantled. The mayor was told by agents at the gate the secretary was unavailable to meet," Ormsby said.

He added, "Additionally, we are distressed to hear that the bathrooms are unavailable at the ICE facility."

Trump sends troops to Portland to protect ICE facilities

Donald Trump ordered the Department of War to send troops to Portland, Oregon, to secure the city and safeguard Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities on September 27.

The president said he was prepared to authorize the use of "full force" if needed, citing attacks on federal personnel and facilities in the city.

He then linked his order directly to a request from Noem.

"At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The 79-year-old added, "I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary."

Trump announced this following a series of violent incidents reported by the DHS, including rioters shining lasers into officers’ eyes, throwing smoke grenades, and attempting to damage equipment at the ICE facility.

The department said in its report, "On June 29, a rioter was attempting to damage equipment at the facility. DHS officers took the subject into custody, who resisted arrest, grabbed an officer in the genitals, and kicked officers in the groin and legs."
