Noel Gallagher recalls buying life-size Matthew McConaughey cutout after meeting him at a wedding
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Noel Gallagher has shared plenty of stories over the years, but his encounter with Matthew McConaughey is one that stands out.
The Oasis rocker revealed that he liked McConaughey so much after meeting him at a friend's wedding that he bought a life-size cardboard cutout of the actor and kept it in his window.
Gallagher recently recalled the funny moment during a conversation with Amelia Dimoldenberg on 'Chicken Shop Date.'

Noel Gallagher reveals Matthew McConaughey cutout story
Gallagher opened up about meeting McConaughey at a friend's wedding and made it clear that the actor had left a lasting impression on him. “I met him at a friend’s wedding. I’ve never met anyone like him,” the musician said.
The meeting was memorable enough for Gallagher to buy a life-size cutout of McConaughey and put it in his window.
“I had (a cardboard cutout) of Matthew McConaughey in my front window for a while,” Gallagher said.

Gallagher is known for speaking his mind, and his conversation with Dimoldenberg was no different.
The two also chatted about food, with the singer sharing his thoughts on chicken nuggets, vegetarianism and veganism. When asked if he liked chicken nuggets, he replied, “Who doesn’t?”
The conversation took a few more turns, with Gallagher also sharing his thoughts on Paul McCartney and saying, "he’s one of those rare people that when you meet him, you walk away from it feeling good about yourself."
Noel Gallagher reflects on 'Oasis' reunion and fame
During the interview, Gallagher also spoke about his rock-star image and what comes with it. When Dimoldenberg asked what made him a rock star, the Oasis musician gave a short but confident reply: “The fact that I am one.”
The conversation comes after Oasis reunited for a tour in 2025, bringing Gallagher and his brother, Liam Gallagher, back onstage after years apart.

“START THE CELEBRATIONS!!!! After a period of reflection, ‘The Most Damaging Pop Cultural Force in Recent British History’ has declared itself fit for purpose and will once again return to lift the spirits of the people,” the band said in a statement. “Come witness the fitness. It shall be a sight to behold."
In September, Oasis also premiered 'Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger' at the Venice International Film Festival.
