Selma Blair’s 'DWTS' partner Sasha Farber gives update after her arrest over flight incident
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Selma Blair’s former 'Dancing with the Stars' (DWTS) partner Sasha Farber has shared an update on the actress following her recent arrest over an alleged flight incident. Farber revealed that he has stayed in touch with Blair and said she was doing well.
The dancer also spoke about the close bond they formed while competing together on the show in 2022, explaining that their connection goes beyond the dance floor.
Sasha Farber says Selma Blair is doing well after her arrest
Farber spoke about Blair while attending the 'Dancers Against Cancer’s 2026 Gala of the Stars' on October 22. When asked whether he had spoken to the actress recently, he confirmed that they had been in contact.
“I have been talking to Selma. She’s doing great, and I’m thinking of her,” he told People.

Farber also made it clear that Blair means a lot to him. The pair were partners on Season 31 of 'Dancing with the Stars' in 2022, but Blair eventually withdrew from the competition because of health concerns related to her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
Reflecting on their bond, Farber said, “We are family. She is literally my family.” He added that the relationships formed on the dance competition often last long after the show ends.
Farber also mentioned keeping in touch with other former contestants, including Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton.
“I talk to everyone from Selma to... Mary Lou Retton literally just texted me two nights ago, telling me that I saved her life, and she’s so grateful,” Farber recalled of the Olympic gymnast. “She’s at the Bahamas, and she’s on a cruise, and just having a good time.”
Selma Blair faces legal proceedings after alleged flight incident
Farber’s comments came after Blair was arrested on October 11 following an alleged incident aboard a Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York. Blair was taken to a hospital after the plane landed at John F Kennedy International Airport.
Blair appeared in court the following day and pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault. She was subsequently released on bail.

The actress’s representative later said that Blair had experienced a medical emergency during the flight and denied that she had tried to open the aircraft door.
A post shared by Breaking911 on X on October 12 reported the arrest and allegations involving the flight. The post also noted that Blair’s representative had said she suffered a medical emergency and was in stable condition.
“Since Sunday night, the public account of what happened to Selma aboard a flight to New York has been built almost entirely on a police statement and a decade-old headline,” Blair’s spokesperson shared.
The representative also stated that Blair did not intend to harm anyone, adding that the public account of the incident did not reflect the full circumstances.
Farber’s remarks offered a personal update on Blair as she faced legal proceedings following the incident. His comments also highlighted the lasting relationship the two developed during their time on 'Dancing with the Stars'.
