DEARBORN, MICHIGAN: Democratic Congresswoman  Rashida Tlaib urged Democrats in Michigan to vote against President Joe Biden in the state's forthcoming Democratic primary in protest over his handling of the Israel-Hamas war, reported New York Post.

"We feel completely neglected and just unseen by our government. If you want us to be louder, then come here and vote uncommitted," the Palestinian-American lawmaker said in a video posted on X by 'Listen to Michigan' on February 17.

'Listen to Michigan' is a campaign formed by more than 30 officials of the Great Lakes state who have vowed to vote 'uncommitted' in the state's Democratic primary on February 27 to demand the president support a ceasefire in the ongoing war as per CNN.

Rashida Tlaib calls to create a voting bloc

The Michigan lawmaker representing parts of Detroit and its suburbs urged voters to stand in support of every life lost in Gaza. "It is important as you all know to not only march against the genocide, not only make sure that we're calling our members of Congress and local electeds and passing city resolutions all throughout our country," she continued in the video.

"It is also important to create a voting bloc," Tlaib said, adding, "Something that is a bullhorn to say, enough is enough. We don't want a country that supports wars and bombs and destruction. We want to support life. We want to stand up for every single life killed in Gaza."

According to Reuters, the overall Palestinian death toll has surpassed 28,000 since the war broke out on October 7, 2023.

Tlaib's support of Palestine and her anti-Israel rhetoric led the house to censure her on the grounds of promoting anti-semitism in November last year, as reported by Associated Press.

At least 1,200 people, including at least 326 children, have been killed and more than 300,000 displaced, after Israel launched sustained retaliatory air strikes after a large-scale attack by Hamas. On October 7, the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza by land, sea, and air, killing 1000 people and wounding more than 2000. Israeli soldiers and civilians have also been taken hostage by Hamas and moved into Gaza. The attack prompted a declaration of war by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Internet slams Rashida Tlaib

Furious over the remarks to vote 'uncommitted' in the upcoming Michigan Democratic primary, netizens slammed Tlaib and demanded the party to primary her.

One user said, "I cannot stand this woman. She is nothing but self serving. The democrats need to primary her."

Another user remarked, "Democrats will make sure she loses her seat. We aren’t going to allow this in our party."

"This woman deserves to lose her seat. I have a feeling that she will this time around. Rashida Tlaib needs to go," a third response read.

A fourth user added, "She needs to be voted out Michigan."

"Let’s get one thing straight….She’s pure trash," read a remark.

Another user wrote, "I think it’s too late to primary her. It’s a shame she’s doing this. I really hope that folks in Deerborn, MI understand the consequences of a Trump presidency and what that means not domestically but in foreign affairs. I’m still not concerned abt the election."
