In a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, LaVergne expressed his firm stance, stating, "It's my hope that the Goldmans get zero, nothing. Them specifically. And I will do everything in my capacity as the executor or personal representative to try and ensure that they get nothing."

LaVergne's animosity towards the Goldmans stems in part from their actions regarding Simpson's controversial book 'If I Did It,' showcasing a long-standing feud between the parties.

Despite Simpson's acquittal in his criminal trial for the murders, a civil court ruling in 1997 found him liable for the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, ordering him to pay $33.5 million to their families. Simpson managed to avoid paying the majority of this sum during his lifetime.

With Simpson's death, the issue of settling his outstanding debts has resurfaced. However, LaVergne revealed that Simpson's total assets are still being assessed, making it unclear exactly how much the estate is worth.

As the legal saga continues, it appears that OJ Simpson's passing has not brought an end to the complex and contentious financial matters surrounding his legacy.

Internet split over OJ Simpson's estate executor's decision

The online community finds itself divided over the decision of OJ Simpson's estate executor, Malcolm LaVergne, to contest payments to the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

One X user stated, "The Goldmans won the case, that should be enough they don’t need the money."

Another stated, "Whatever the amount was when the verdict was rendered is what the Goldman's are entitled to end of story, not sure what the argument is?"

One user expressed sympathy towards Simpson's family, asserting, "No, dead drug dealer family stealing from the children of #OJ. The man is dead leave his family only, OJ estate belongs to his survivors. It's destruction of legacy wealth of another Black Family. The oppression continues."

However, there were those who hoped for a resolution that benefited the victims' families, as one user stated, "I hope his whole estate goes to Goldman, Brown."
