'Magic place': Olivia Newton-John’s widower John Easterling puts their California ranch on sale for $9M
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The California ranch that John Easterling and his late wife Olivia Newton-John shared is now officially on sale.
Easterling, a naturopathic entrepreneur, has chosen to offer the Santa Ynez estate where Newton-John spent her dying days for $8.9 million. Easterling lost the 'Grease' icon to breast cancer in August 2022, nearly two years ago.
Easterling recalls 'wonderful memories'
"Olivia and I made many wonderful memories at our home in Florida and the ranch in California. The message that keeps coming through so clearly is to love life, live life, and never forget about the good things that are going on,” Easterling told People.
“The ‘Indian Way’ Ranch in Santa Ynez is a spectacular property where I can see a new family having great nature adventures and relishing the life experience,” he continued. “I’ll still maintain a presence in both Florida and California.”
Situated in the Santa Ynez Valley, the tranquil property spans 12 acres of land. It has easy access to the Santa Ynez River and is encircled by mountains. The house is 4,450 square feet in size and has four bedrooms and four complete bathrooms.
Among the various features of the estate are a four-car garage, an outdoor kitchen, a pool, and a guest cottage with two bedrooms. The property also has meadows, a stable, an arena, and a barn.
John and Olivia recognized ranch as a 'magic place'
Carey Kendall of Village Properties, who holds the listing, told People, "John and Olivia recognized that uniqueness when they purchased the property many years ago, and they looked extensively before deciding this was the magic place for them!"
He continued, "The feel of the expanse is great, the running water in front of the ranch is amazing and the exquisite detail of the architecture sets the home apart!"
Newton-John and Easterling first got to know each other in the mid-2000s, while they were both working for environmental nonprofits. Later, in June 2008, the couple wed in two different ceremonies: first, an intimate ceremony in Florida attended by friends and family, and then an Incan spiritual ceremony performed on a mountaintop outside of Peru.
