Olivia Wilde reveals Tom Cruise's reaction after she was served custody papers at CinemaCon
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Olivia Wilde has disclosed the interaction she had with Tom Cruise, months after she was served custody papers onstage during a 2022 CinemaCon presentation.
The actress called the incident “traumatizing” as she was given the legal papers in the middle of her presentation about her movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’. It happened two years after Wilde split from her ex Jason Sudeikis, with whom she shares two children — Otis and Daisy.

Now, during her appearance on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, the filmmaker has shared, “I will never forget one of the most f****d up things I went through, among so many, was that I was served papers on stage.”
“Obviously, it was incredibly traumatizing. There’s so many elements to that, but I get through it because, weirdly, as women we’re taught to muscle through the most insane experiences,” she stated.

The ‘Tron: Legacy’ star also noted that after finishing her speech, she “went backstage, completely dissolved into a puddle. But then, I thought, ‘No one saw it because there’s no phones allowed in this event. No one saw. Oh, what’s that? It’s already up on Page Six? There’s a video? Okay.”
Wilde, however, was still sure that no one would have actually seen the video. But she was proved wrong a few months later.

“A couple months later, I had the chance [to meet] Tom Cruise, and he was like, ‘Hi, I’m Tom. F****d up what happened to you in Vegas.’ I was like, ‘No!’ I was like, ‘OK, so it went wide. Got it. Got it,” she recalled.
Initially, Wilde thought it was intentionally done by Sudeikis. But now, she’s said, “Jason has told me that he did not know, and I need to believe that to continue [our coparenting relationship].”

The filmmaker also slammed lawyers as she claimed, “I think that lawyers can be super f****d up and do f****d up things. I’m aware of that, and all of that, but I think that people are never their best selves when they’re engaging in that kind of process.”
Wilde further asserted that “I know that, whether or not he [Sudeikis] knew it was going to happen, I know it really hurt him to see it happening to me. It was undeniable that it was a f****d up thing, and I know he felt very bad that it happened to me.”
