Olympian Trinity Rodman speaks out about her relationship with father Dennis: 'He's not a dad'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Trinity Rodman, the Olympic gold medal-winning soccer player, has frankly spoken up about her famous dad, Dennis Rodman, and their strained relationship.
On the Wednesday, December 18, episode of ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, the 22-year-old called out the five-time NBA champion and asserted, “He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else,” as reported by CNN.
She also told host Alex Cooper that “hearing his voice is painful.”
Trinity accuses her father Dennis Rodman of abandoning her
Dennis Rodman shares Trinity and son Dennis 'DJ' Jr with his ex-wife Michelle Moyer.
The former basketball small forward tied the knot with Moyer in 2003 after the birth of both children. But filed for divorce in 2004 before it got finalized in 2012.
The Washington Spirit forward has now slammed him for being mostly absent from her life.
“We had (a Ford) Expedition and we kind of lived in that for a little bit. We tried to live with him, but he’s having parties 24/7, he is bringing random b****es in. He loves the spotlight. He loves the cameras,” she shared.
Trinity also explained that before the divorce was finalized, “My dad was actually helping money wise. He would actually give money to my mom and let us kind of live life a little bit, but then when the divorce happened, it was just like, ‘F**k you guys.’”
“I think he’s an extremely selfish human being. I think everything has always been about him,” she claimed.
Trinity 'was mad' at Dennis Rodman for showing up to her NWSL match
During the podcast, Trinity also recalled the time when her 63-year-old dad came unannounced during her National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) quarterfinal match in 2021.
She disclosed, “When he showed up at my game, I was, like, so mad. I started crying on the field. So I’m trying to play the soccer game and I’m crying.”
“I was so mad. I was like ‘You took this happy moment from me. You f**ked with my head again'. I’m walking over there (towards Dennis) so mad, like ‘F**k you'. I walk over there, he grabs my head and I just start bawling into his arms as if it’s a daddy-daughter (moment),” the 2021 NWSL Rookie of the Year said.
Trinity Rodman has lost hope in 'getting her dad back'
Trinity Rodman even shared an Instagram post at the time, hoping for some improvement in their relationship only to get a reality check later.

“After that, radio silence. I didn’t see him for, like… until this year. Stupid me for thinking that was gonna be some type of new spark. That was me every single time,” she revealed.
Trinity added, “He would come around, and I’d be like ‘Okay, here it is again. We’re gonna start something. He’s gonna be around'. Boom, months and months and months (without speaking to him). This time, it was years. I think after that was when I lost hope in ever getting him back.”
