'Lying all along': Oprah slammed as she admits to using weight-loss drug for dramatic transformation
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Oprah Winfrey had previously denied that she would ever take Ozempic or comparable pills to reduce weight, but she has now publicly acknowledged that she has been utilizing weight-loss medication for her spectacular bodily makeover.
The 69-year-old anchor, who has spent years dealing with accusations that she used medical weight reduction aids, announced that she was coming clean because she was "done with the shaming" following her more than 40-pound weight loss in recent months, as reported by DailyMail.
Oprah Winfrey earlier said she would never use Ozempic
During a previous conversation with WeightWatchers CEO Sima Sistani, Oprah Winfrey said that she would not use Ozempic and other comparable pills because she saw them as an "easy way out."
She told People, "I now use it as I feel I need it, as a tool to manage not yo-yoing' - but did not name the drug that she uses."
Oprah Winfrey is 'done with the shaming from other people'
"The fact that there's a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for," Oprah said.
"Iโm absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself," Oprah said, before adding that she had actively recommended the weight loss aid to other people before deciding to take it herself.
The celebrity said she took the medicine ahead of Thanksgiving because she knew she would have "two solid weeks of eating". She attributes her reduced weight gain to the prescription, saying it "quiets the noise of food," and claims it caused her to gain only half a pound instead of eight.

Oprah was brand ambassador of Weight Watchers
Oprah has been involved with WW for a long time, and she continues to use the program to support her in eating a balanced diet.
"I eat my last meal at 4 oโclock, drink a gallon of water a day, and use the WeightWatchers principles of counting points," she told PEOPLE.
The company stated back in 2015 that Oprah even owns 10% of the company's shares and works as an advisor and board member.
At that time, she said, "Weight Watchers has given me the tools to begin to make the lasting shift that I and so many of us who are struggling with weight have longed for."
She added, โI believe in the program so much I decided to invest in the company and partner in its evolution,โ as reported by Woman's Health.
