LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Oprah Winfrey has been hospitalised due to a stomach virus.
The media mogul was supposed to appear on 'CBS Mornings' on Tuesday, June 11, to share her latest book club choice.
Gayle King gave an update on Oprah Winfrey's health
The show's host Gayle King issued an update about Winfrey’s health saying, "She had some kind of stomach thing — stomach flu — stuff was coming out of both ends."
“I won't get too graphic. Needless to say, she ended up in the hospital, dehydration, had to get an IV. It was a very serious thing," she added, noting that Winfrey tried to “rally” but needed to rest."

"She will be okay. I hope she's not mad at me for sharing that detail," King further said, adding "But I wanted to make it clear, though, that it mattered to her and that it really bothered her that she couldn't be here for you today."
Meanwhile, Winfrey’s representative told People that the iconic host Winfrey’s health is improving.
“Ms Winfrey is recovering following a stomach virus and received an IV due to dehydration at the recommendation of her doctor,” the spokesperson said, adding "She is resting and feeling better every day."
Winfrey wasn’t personally there to announce her pick but, over an Instagram post, she chose ‘Familiaris’ by David Wroblewski for her book club.
“Summer is here and I love to settle in with a big book that takes me through the season,” she captioned the post, adding “So today I’m thrilled to announce that my next @oprahsbookclub selection is “Familiaris” by @davidw4words!”
